The design of this farmhouse on the coast north of Dunedin has taken its inspiration and materiality from some of the existing historic buildings on the site. The long low form takes advantage of the stunning views of Blueskin Bay and is dug into the site with a beautiful retaining wall of stone sourced from the site. This acts as a spine linking the different parts of the building both internally and externally. The front elevation is punctuated with a series of outdoor areas that offer many options for sheltered outdoor living. The interior is warm and inviting with soaring timber lined ceilings, timber wall paneling and a brick fireplace which is a focal point of both the dining and living spaces.
